Inventory & Asset Management benefits greatly from the implementation of RFID technology, aiding in ensuring the eradication of errors or discrepancies, theft prevention and improving the efficiency and reliability of the supply chain process. AdvanTech, Inc. has implemented RFID technology successfully for many industries in both the public and private sectors including, for example, several military apparel manufacturers and finishers who use it for their manufacturing and packaging processes. We also have successfully partnered with other leading providers of RFID and barcoding technologies, thereby providing design, implementation, maintenance and support through the asset lifecycle. Its potential for use in distribution centers, warehouses, and through to retail operations makes RFID one of the most versatile and effective tools for inventory and asset management.
Just What is RFID?
RFID is Radio Frequency Identification, implemented using radio waves to communicate information between a unique item and a system. There are two types of RFID transponders (or tags)—passive and active. Passive RFID (pRFID) systems use tags that are powered by the electromagnetic energy transmitted from an RFID reader. Active RFID (aRFID) systems use tags that possess their own power source and transmitter, enabling the tag to broadcast its signal.
When considering an RFID system there are many factors involved, including frequency of operation and environmental factors. Many of these require detailed knowledge of the options available in order to make an informed decision, as some of these factors relate to site issues and requirements. AdvanTech’s specialists can provide efficient and highly cost-effective RFID and barcoding services that take all these factors into consideration.
